FIND FREDDY: BE A COSTUMED CHARACTER

Sign up to be a costume character online by Sept. 9

FIND FREDDY the FROG and HIS FRIENDS is a living scavenger hunt held annually as part of the Hopewell Harvest Fair. Costumed Characters wander the fairgrounds for one hour in the costume of their choosing, while scavenger hunters search diligently for them. In order to be a Costumed Character, you will NEED to be at the fair from noon to 2PM.

All Costumed Characters are entered in the Freddy’s Costumed Character Contest! In addition to bragging rights (which are huge), there are wonderful prizes, donated by local merchants, awarded in each of the following categories:

• Most Stunningly Sensational Character

• Most Fabulously Fantastic Character

• Most Radically Ridiculous Character

• Most Cunningly Creative Character

Costumes

Costumes may be as subtle or flamboyant as you like. For example, you can be a movie star with a glamorous gown, or a firefighter in full gear. Or you may just have ordinary clothing on, but be carrying an odd prop, or have your shirt on backwards. Your character should have a NAME (ie The White Rabbit) and a CLUE (I’m LATE! I’m LATE!). Sometimes your clue and name will be the same.

Note that if you want to walk around with a friend, you should make your characters be ONE clue (as below). A few examples from past years, to give you a better idea:

Name: Lost Traveler

Clue: He’s off the Map

Costume: Backpack, travel books, map of Paris, asking everyone directions to NYC locations

Name: Mime & Hippie

Clue: Peace & Quiet

Costume: 2 people - One mime, one hippie!

Name/Clue: Quarterback

Costume: Quarter taped to her back

Name/Clue: Trekkie Trio

Costume: 3 friends dressed in Star Trek gear
