A MESSAGE FROM THE HOPEWELL HARVEST FAIR COMMITTEE

STATEMENT FROM THE HOPEWELL HARVEST FAIR

For almost 35 years, the Hopewell Harvest Fair has served a central role in our Hopewell Valley community. We look forward to coming together again to enjoy music, games, food, and all that the Fair offers annually.

With heavy hearts, the Hopewell Harvest Fair Board of Directors decided back in May that we would not hold the event in September. At that time, we reached out to fair participants and supporters via email. (apologies that the public announcement has taken us longer!) There still remains a great deal of uncertainty, and the planning of the Fair is a huge undertaking, usually well underway by May. While it saddens us greatly that we will not be able to hold a fair this September, we are confident that the Harvest Fair will return in Fall 2022 and come back even stronger.

The Hopewell Harvest Fair is not only a community event, we also offer a strong Community Grant Program, which has donated over $200,000 to local non-profits over the past 30+ years. Unfortunately, our inability to hold a fair in 2020 and 2021 means we will be unable to offer grants until after our Fall 2022 Harvest Fair. We certainly look forward to reviving our grant award program.

Just keeping the “lights on” so that the Fair can come back in 2022 requires an annual budget, including insurance, website, and filing fees, totaling about $3,000 per year. Thanks to the incredible generosity of local businesses and individuals, over 80% of these annual costs have been covered since sending out an email appeal in May. We just need a few hundred dollars to help make up the gap - and any additional funds raised will help make up the remaining gap from 2020, and put us on even stronger footing for 2022.

If you are a fan of the fair, and can readily spare a portion of what you might have spent at the fair, to help us be in the best spot possible for 2022, we would truly appreciate it! Every dollar helps. If this year has been a hard one for you too - please just mark your calendar for September 2022 and we will see you there!

Tax-deductible donations can be made here - https://donate.chip-in.us/?nonprofitId=111319 - or by mailing a check to: Hopewell Harvest Fair, PO Box 421, Hopewell, NJ 08525.
